Howard Anderson Architecture (HAA), established in 1973 and located within a mixed-use office building designed and developed by Howard Anderson in Del Mar, is a full service architecture and design firm who offers a diverse range of experience in all aspects of project development including master planning, architectural and interior design, space planning, development studies, entitlements and associated permits.

HAA prides itself on our wide array of project experience, From large scale worship centers and aviation facilities, to commercial tenant improvements and residential remodels. We feel the variety of projects gives us a unique sense of ‘big picture’ aspects of a project, such as master planning, to the small details of a project. Understanding the implications of these design aspects over the life of a facility helps manage future growth and plan for long term maintenance considerations.

Our philosophy encourages a collaborative project team approach within our studio, with our clients and with the project delivery team. We feel this environment utilizes the talents and experience of all individual team members and fosters unique ideas necessary to generate the optimal design solution while team collaboration with the client, design consultants and builders, results in an efficient and complementary project.

The HAA architectural team has been working together for over a decade. We are a family that work closely together in our open studio atmosphere which allows for constant collaboration on a project and permits everyone’s strengths to be reflected in every aspect of the process and ultimately in the final product. Our local consultant relationships, forged over decades, value the same enthusiasm of working as a team to create projects that are not only visually pleasing, but also well-built with plenty of consideration given to multiple creative ways of accomplishing project goals. We feel this approach has allowed us to minimize construction changes as we place emphasis in the design phases on exploring multiple ways of solving issues, with project goals, design and budget in mind.
